Celebrating the achievements of
Portsmouth's school and college staff

Join us for a year of big celebrations that recognise staff in the city's schools and colleges

Teach Portsmouth needs your help to applaud the achievements of individuals across Portsmouth's education community.

Schools and colleges alongside parents/carers have come together to say thank you to those who have gone above and beyond for children, young people and families. Take a look at each activity and how you can get involved in the celebrations.

Become a sponsor

Be part of two sponsorship opportunities to celebrate the achievements of school and college professionals in the city.

Thank a school superhero

Thank primary and secondary school staff who have gone above and beyond for you by sharing a special message.

Celebrating long service to education

Help us celebrate long service to education for those in schools and colleges who have worked in Portsmouth for 20 years or more.

And finally...

Thank a school superhero hampers

To celebrate everyone's achievements, staff in 62 schools will receive at least one hamper (per 50 staff members) in June 2024.

Hampers will be filled with goodies - perfect for a quick break or to eat during lunch time in staff rooms. If you'd like to help us thank our school superheroes with hampers, become a sponsor today!

Top questions

I've nominated colleagues for a long service to education award, what happens next?

Once you've submitted your nominations, we will contact the nominees to ask them to complete our consent form and confirm they are happy to be included. They will then receive an invitation to register to attend our celebration event on Wednesday 26 June at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Will the Teach Portsmouth Awards return this year?

The Teach Portsmouth Awards will return in 2025. This year, Teach Portsmouth are organising a range of new ways to recognise school and college staff, celebrating their achievements, with a series of unique and different activities.

Why does the deadline for the long service nominations mention capacity?

The long service to education event at Portsmouth Guildhall has a limited capacity of 100 people. In previous years, nominations for this group have never reached over this amount. We anticipate similar levels of submissions this year. If the capacity is reached, online submissions will be closed. No further submissions can be put forward after this time.

Why do you require sponsorship for each activity?

Teach Portsmouth relies on the goodwill of organisations to support our activities to bring our plans to fruition. So far, we have confirmed two sponsors for the long service to education event, with opportunities remaining for both activities.

Why can't I nominate someone in the long service to education event?

This activity requires a co-ordinated approach from schools and colleges to check and contact staff members. This helps reduce duplicated submissions for the same person. Senior staff members in schools are best placed to support this activity. If you would like to recognise an individual, please visit the thank a school superhero page before Friday 15 March to submit your thank you message.
