Families say thank you to Portsmouth's teachers

Have you said thank you to a Portsmouth teacher yet?

Since July, we've been asking families in Portsmouth to share their words of thanks for the city's teachers, support teams and senior leaders who have supported them throughout the pandemic. We've chosen some of our favourites to share with you.

A thank you from Amelia to Moorings Way Infant school

All the teachers at Moorings Way Infant School have been brilliant. It's the end of infants for me and they've supported me all the way through. Thank you Miss Gale, Mrs Vonk, Miss Williams and Mrs Van De Broek.

A thank you from Kerri to St Edmund's Catholic School

I would like to say thank you to all of the teachers and office staff at St Edmund's Catholic School for all they have done for the students during the pandemic.

They've kept in contact with us which has been incredible. Their hard work and determination to deliver online classes has been really important, especially the extra time they have put in to support students.

We appreciate all of your hard work and can't wait to see you in September!

A thank you from Sharon to St. John's Cathedral Catholic Primary School

Thank you to all the staff at St. John's Cathedral Catholic School. To say you have gone above and beyond is an understatement! Your support for pupils (and to us parents) during lockdown has been invaluable.

You have taken the time to ensure no child has been left behind either academically or spiritually.

An extra big thank you to Mrs Park who has been an amazing headteacher and has shown, and is still showing, great leadership during these strange and challenging times.

A thank you from Karen to Julie at The Elizabeth Foundation

Julie has not just led our education team, but inspired them to think outside the box in order to meet the needs of our young deaf children and their families during lockdown.

She has worked tirelessly and endlessly to motivate her team, to trial new technologies to deliver services, to engage, encourage and offer practical support to staff, volunteers, children and families which has made a difference during these incredibly unprecedented times.

Say thanks to a Portsmouth teacher

Teachers, support staff and head teachers have been doing an incredible job during the pandemic supporting all children in Portsmouth. Do you know someone who has gone above and beyond to support your child? Tell us who deserves a big thank you and we'll share your story online so everyone can see.
