Thank a school superhero
You've thanked 600+ school superheroes in Portsmouth
You've helped make someone's year
Thanks to you, over 600 thank you messages for staff have been received and sent in hampers on Thursday 20 June 2024.
The hampers are one of the ways we reward and recognise the extraordinary achievements of school staff across primary, secondary and specialist settings.
We want to share our superhero moments with you from the last year, showcasing the people behind the message.
Our superhero moments
We've celebrated some key milestones since January 2024 when we launched the thank a school superhero initiative. Look back at these moments and celebrate with us.
Portsmouth's superhero hampers have landed at a school near you!
Meon Way Federation thank their school superheroes
To launch thank you postcards in schools, pupils from Meon Way Federation came together with the head teacher to thank teaching and support staff.
Councillor Suzy Horton, Deputy Leader and Cabinet Member for Children, Families and Education alongside Mike Stoneman, deputy director, education joined with Sara Paine, head teacher at the school to say a big collective thank you to all their staff.
Thank you tea party held for school superheroes
As the deadline fast approached for thank you messages, we held a celebratory tea party at Arundel Court Primary Academy with staff, parents/carers and their children.
The school had successfully received over 45 individual messages for their superhero staff and were rewarded with a tea party.
Meet our school superheroes
With over 600+ thank you messages, there are plenty of staff who have gone above and beyond the call of duty. To showcase some of our school superheroes, we've shone a light on staff who have supported their communities in different ways.
