About the event

Portsmouth Guildhall and the main auditorium comes alive as 300 delegates from across early years, primary, secondary, specialist and post-16 settings arrive at the venue.

The event celebrates the achievements of individuals and teams who have gone above and beyond the call of duty to support children and young people. People are nominated by a senior representative in each school and college. The general public can nominate in the people's choice award category only. A shortlist is decided by a panel of local education specialists with the winner announced on the night.

Meet our previous sponsors

Last year, Teach Portsmouth recognised the city's school superheroes in different ways. University of Chichester Academy Trust and Salterns Academy Trust co-sponsored a celebration event for long service to education at Portsmouth Guildhall.

Nys Hardingham, CEO of Salterns Academy Trust said:

"We're thrilled to be able to support Teach Portsmouth once more in their celebration of long service to education.

"We want those who have experience to stay working in our schools to support the next generation of thinkers and doers. This event is one way we can do that as a community."

Jennese Alozie, CEO of the University of Chichester Academy Trust said:

"The University of Chichester Academy Trust is proud to co-sponsor the Teach Portsmouth long service to education event, recognising an all-important milestone in the career of school staff.

"This event celebrates the achievements of individuals who have given their lives to Portsmouth for two decades or more.
